ASP continues to please Gilmore Girl fans by bringing in old cast members onto the new show Bunheads. Tonight she brought back a beloved fan favorite… KIRK!! Kirk is now in Paradise!!
My theory is Kirk finally moved out of his mother’s house and left Stars Hollow. Paradise was a close to home as he could get so he decided to settle down there. Not quite sure about what happened to Lulu. Since he idolized Luke he decided to open up his own coffee shop and with room to finally grow he discovered his talent to make cool coffee creations! And become a weird modern hippy dude!
ASP you’ve made my Monday night complete!
So i’m sure many Gilmore Girl fans often wondered what on earth happened to their favorite characters after the show ended. Well, Gilmore Girl fans wonder no more! They all simply moved to Paradise! If there is one thing that ASP takes to heart is reduce, reuse, and recycle. Particularly every single cast member from her best show ever, Gilmore Girls. I’ve come to think of Bunheads as the alternate universe of Star Hollows if the Gilmore’s never moved there. Don’t get me wrong I really am enjoying Bunheads but I can not help but draw comparisons.
Every week a not so new face pops up on Bunheads. My reactions so far.
Logan’s Dad: “Oh hey, it is Logan’s dad. Guess his business didn’t work out so well in the end. Aha sucker!”
Gyspy: “It’s Gyspy! Hey, where is her accent?!”
Emily Gilmore/Fanny: “Kelly Bishop you are flawless women and play bitchy oh so well. Also, she is the Miss Patty of Paradise!”
The dude who played Jason Stiles: “WTF would you bring Jason F*king Stiles back?! Out of all the cast members in the world you bring this fool in?!”
Lastly, I must bring up Michelle and Sutton’s portrayal of her. She is entertaining, and her delivery of the witty lines is decent. But, I feel she tries so hard to be Lorelai Gilmore that it leaves the character Michelle just a weak, whiny imitation of her. Sutton Foster even said she was obsessed with Gilmore Girls before starting this show and I think it shows how hard she tries to live up to Gilmore Girls reputation in some scenes.
Bunheads has great potential if only ASP would stop reusing Gilmore Girl cast members and added something we haven’t already seen to the scripts.
Rant aside though I am enjoying this new show. It helps fill the void of sadness Gilmore Girls has left. If they must bring in someone please bring in Scott Patterson and let him wear flannel and a baseball cap!!!
